Lancashire FA Social Networking Workshop – Wednesday 10th August – 6.30pm
The use of social networking sites, club websites, and other electronic media has grown enormously in recent times and has consequently had a major impact in football. Whilst this modern technology has been of tremendous assistance to clubs in communicating with its members, it has also highlighted areas of concern as to best practice.
It is very important that Lancashire Football Association gives clear and unequivocal advice to all of its member clubs and leagues in this complex area. In doing so we can ensure that the safety of junior players is assured and that clubs do not fall into the trap of issuing public statements that might constitute bringing the game into disrepute.
In order to brief our stakeholders of current FA guidance on this issue, we will be holding a Social Networking and Modern Media Workshop at Leyland on Wednesday 10th August at 6.30pm.
We would strongly advise all clubs to try and ensure attendance from secretary, welfare officer, or both. Several clubs in the county have had serious problems in this area in the last twelve months, indeed some have faced disciplinary charges. We are seeking to avoid recurrences and believe this workshop will go a long way to achieving this goal.
Please call Neil or Chris in the Welfare Department on 01772 624000 to book a place, or e-mail chris.doherty@lancashirefa.com
